Welcome to The Plant Cell Biotechnology Millennium Nucleus (PCB-MN)

The Plant Cell Biotechnology Millennium Nucleus (PCB-MN), a center of excellence in Plant Cell Biology and Biotechnology, aims to:

1) Carry out nationally and internationally recognized research

2) Create a dynamic learning environment in which the next generation of Plant Biologists and Biotechnologists may be formed

3) Establish networks of scientific collaborations, nationally and internationally, with leading scientists and institutions

4) Transfer the knowledge from basic research in plant biology to the fruit industry

5) Improve education in Plant Biology and Biotechnology at the school and general public levels.

• The 5th annual RIB (Red Iberoamericana de Bioinformatica) conference will be held at the Pontificia Universidad Católica, Santiago, Chile from october 15-17, 2008. The four previous RIB conferences were held in Buenos Aires, Argentina (2004), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2005), Cartagena de Indias, Colombia (2006), Torremolinos, Spain (2007). more info
